Dear NAACP Members and Supporters:
Thank you for supporting Victor Valley NAACP (VVNAACP) Branch 1082 during
our 29th Annual Freedom Fund Awards & Centennial Celebration.
In addition, we celebrated the 100th Birthday of the NAACP. Indeed, this event was a spectacular integration
of music, song, and traditional African dance. Even more, Keynote Speaker Rev., Dr.
Duneen De Bruhl provided each individual
with an evening of a historical repertoire in Black/African American history.
The lifeblood of VVNAACP is membership. Even more, having active membership
participation, this ensures the branch’s continual success in the community.
The need for a viable NAACP branch in the High Desert is greater than ever, and it is my hope for the coming year
each of you will become more active. I as your president have established the goal of greater community involvement in our
children’s education and equal employment opportunity.
Lastly, as VVNAACP President, I extend an open invitation to our meetings to all. The
meetings are the first Thursday of each the month.
Thursday the 5th is our November meeting. The location for all meetings
is at the Community Center #1, 11555 Cortez Street, Adelanto, CA at 6:30 PM.
Harold J. Gilbert, President
